Aisha (R.A) she was most beloved to the prophet (S.A.W), she was a
memorizer of the Book Allah (S.W.T) the woman who was Exonerated by Allah
(S.W.T) in the Quran, it was upon her Lap that the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) He
breathed His Last, we are talking about our mother: Aisha Bint Abu Bakr (R.A)
she was confident, Assertive, Knowledgeable, Eloquent; she loved her husband; she
loved prophet (S.A.W), she was jealous of the prophet (S.A.W) and his other wives, His
marriage to Aisha was acceptable at the time; nobody protested it, that if
Aisha (R.A.)herself was so Honored and pleased; that she was the wife of the
greatest Muhammad (S.A.W) who are you to come and talk about this subject? And
Urwa (R.A.) He says: I have Heard that speeches of Abubakary, and them speeches
of the Umar and speeches of Uthman, and the speeches of Ali and He says: that
there is no person; that none of them were as Eloquent as Aisha (R.A) this
woman Aisha (R.A) is the complete package, Is the complete example of A’
Qaanita’ [Devoted to Allah], of A ‘Mu’mina’ [Believer]; of A’Saaliha’
[Righteous], of A ‘Musliha’ [Innocent]; of A ‘Aalima [Learned; Wise], of A
‘Shaykha’ [Leader]; of A ‘Murabiyya’ [Educator], she is the complete Example of
what A Muslim Woman should Be like, Aisha (R.A) is number four in the most
prolific Narrators of ‘Hadith; there is no Book of ‘Figh’ that does have the
opinion of Aisha (R.A); there is no Book of ‘Tafsir’ or Book of ‘Hadith’; that
does not Mention the name of Aisha (R.A.) and as Ibn Hajar Al-Askalani Says:
She is the greatest scholar among the woman of this ‘Ummah, In Fact may be she
is the woman scholar that ever lived.
Early life of our mother Aisha (R.A)
She is Aisha the daughter of the Abubakary the
son of Abi Quhafa Uthman Ibn Amr, the son of Amru, the son Kaab, the son of
Saad; the Son of Taym, the son of Marra; the Son of Kaab, the son of Luayy; Al
Qarshiyyah, At-Taymiyyah, Al-Makkiyah; An-Nabawiyah; Umm Al-Mu’mineen [Aisha
R.A] Our mother Aisha Bint Abu Bakary; she was Born three To Four years after
the beginning of the prophet hood of Muhammad [S.A.W], the ‘Ulama’ Said: that
Aisha [R.A] had reddish skin, and this is because the prophet [S.A.W]; he said
about Her: He called Her Humaira; means the one who has reddish skin, the dress
of our mother Aisha was very simple, and in fact the ‘Ulama’ said: that she
like to wear A red shirt, and she used to cover it with A black [Like] ‘Jilbab;
and she was wearing Agold ring on Her Finger, she engaged to prophet (S.A.W) at
the Age of six, and He consummated the marriage with Her base on the words of Aisha herself; when she
was Nine years old, and this shortly
after the battle of Badr, the third year after the migration of the
prophet (S.A.W) to madinah, now Aisha
[R.A] because she grew up primarily in madinah; she had the charactetristics
and the traits of the woman of the ‘Ansar’, and ‘subhanallah’ we find so many
incidents between her and the prophet, and we learn so much from just their
Marital life, and ‘subhanallah’ she gives us Access to the Life of the prophet
[S.A.W]; that no Else could give us because she lived Avery long life; after the messenger (S.A.W); she died
fifty-eight years after ‘Hijra; and many of the hadith come from Aisha [R.A].
PERSONAL LIFE OF OUR MOTHER AISHA (R.A)
How the prophet [R.A] slept; when the prophet
(S.A.W) would take a bath, when the prophet (S.A.W) would do his tasks that
were behind closed doors, the intimacy of the prophet (S,A.W); the romance of
the prophet (S.A.W) , how else would we have known that; was it not for Aisha [R.A]? And we are going to enter in the house of the
prophet (S.A.W) and his marriage with Aisha; how did they act as a couple..?
‘Subhanallah; we begin with A very beautiful
‘Hadith; Aisha Bint Abubakary one day; she was sitting, and she begin to tell
the history of eleven woman who Existed before the time of the prophethood of
Rasullullah [S.A.W] and finally she came to the eleven woman and name was Umm
Zar, she said: Abu zar, Abu zar; what would tell you what is Abu? And then she
begin to say: I was a poor woman who used to be with the sheep and the Goats,
and Abu zar; He found me, and He married me and He make me a rich woman, and
she said: my stomach was always full, and always; we would have Extra animals
by our house in case guest came so she can hook them up, and she begin to talk
about their children; that our children were obedient to us and they Listened
to us, and then ‘subhanallah’ After talking about All the wonderful things;
that Abu zar; he did for her, she said: except Abu zar ; he Divorced me, now
Aisha Bint Abubaakry [R.A] our mother, as she was relating this ‘Hadith’; there
was someone sitting with Her and Listening, and that was who? That the Prophet
[S.A.W], and he turned to her and what do you think he said? I am to you as Abu
Zar was to Umm Zar, and me I will never divorce you, she said: No! You are better
than Abu Zar; he was to Umm Zar.
Famous
story of when the ’Ahbash’ came to the ‘Masjid’ of the prophet (S.A.W), and
they Like A war display there, and so Aisha (R.A); she said: she wanted to see,
so the prophet (S.A.W) stood and then she came; si she put Her chin on the
shoulders of the prophet (S.A.W), and then she put her cheek of the against of
the prophet (S.A.W), and she kept watching and then the prophet (S.A.W) would
ask Her; have you had enough? And she would say: no, then after a while; He would
ask Her again: have you have seen enough? She would say: No, and then she said;
she reveals that: I had actually had enough, but I just wanted to see my place
with the prophet (S.A.W), one time we were travelling with A group of
companions; and the prophet (S.A.W) told the companions: you guys go ahead, and
so Aisha didn’t know what was going on; as they move forward Rasullullah
(S.A.W) looked at Aisha (R.A) and he said: lets race, and so they started to
Race and Aisha says: the first I beat the prophet (S.A.W) and she said: I put
on some weight and the second time the prophet beat me, until the prophet
(S.A.W) would make fun of me from that, he would say: see; on for one.
‘Subhanallah’ it was that level of playfulness in their relationship, such A of
level of Romance; A strong connection between the prophet (S.A.W) and Aisha
(R.A.),
Another very beautiful ‘hadith’ which is
authentic, the ‘Hadith’ of Amir Ibn Ass (R.A), he thought he was the one that
the prophet loved the most, so day he came to the prophet (S.A.W) and he said:
Ya Rasullullah : who’s the most beloved person to you? The prophet (S.A.W); He
turned towards Amr and He said: Aisha, now Amir he started thinking and he said
to the prophet (S.A.W); and said from the men? Because he was hoping; at least
from the men I will be number one, the prophet (S.A.W); he responded to him by
saying: Her Father.
Another ‘Hadith’; it shows the place of Aisha
(R.A), Fatima came to the prophet (S.A.W), and the prophet (S.A.W) asked her:
Do you not loved what I love? So she said: Yes; so then prophet (S.A.W) pointed
to Aisha; He said: if you loved what I love; then you have to love Aisha (R.A.),
one day he [Muhammad] came to our mother Aisha Bint Abubakary, and he said to
her: O Aisha I know when you are Mad at me, He response ws; How? The prophet
Muhammad (S.A.W) said: Because when you are Mad; you say: I swear by the lord
of Ibrahim (A,S), and He said: when you’re happy you say: [By the Lord of Muhammad],
she responded to the prophet: Yep, Yep; you got it, you got it, got it, ‘
Subhanallah;’ Looked at this relationship between the prophet (S.A.W); And our Mother
Aisha Bint Abubakary (R.A.), Umm Salama (R.A) says that the prophet (S.A.W);
whenever he would leave for the ‘Masjid’; He would Kiss His wife,
‘Subhanallah’; they used to share utensils together, Aisha (R.A) says; this is narrated by Imam
Al-Bukhari, that one day she was sitting with the prophet (S.A.W); and they
were drinking and they Eating some chicken together, and she says:
‘Sunhanallah’; I will take a drink from the Cup; and then I would give it to
the prophet (S.A.W), and he would drink from the same place that I drank from, and
then I would eat some of the meat or chicken;
and I will give to the prophet (S.A.W) and ‘Subhanallah’; He would eat
from the same place that I Ate from, Look at this wonderful treatment of the
prophet (S.A.W) to his wife.
There’s A very beautiful story; it’s Narrated
by Aisha (R.A) in Al-Bukhari, Aisha (R.A.) explains that: one day the prophet
(S.A.W) was on An expenditure, and He took with him Aisha (R.A) and they were
in A place called Baida, this was late night; the ‘Sahabah’ were Surrounded by
the Enemy, and Aisha (R,A,) says: so I noticed that I lost my Necklace, so went to the prophet (S.A.W) and I told him
that I had lost my Necklace, so she says that the prophet (S.A.W) ordered the
entire Army to stop, and he made everybody go out look for the Necklace, imagine
how Upset the ‘Sahabah’ Must have Been, so who did all the ‘Sahabah’ take the
blame to? They couldn’t say anything to the prophet (S.A.W); they went to
Abubakary (R.A), and they said to him: do you see what Aisha has done? She held
Rasullullah (S.A.W); she held all of us just cause of her Necklace, then it got
even more serious; they run out of water, Aisha (R.A); she says: that
Rasullaullah (S.A.W) sleeping in my Lap, here comes Abubakary; comes to her
Angry, he didn’t wanna wake up the prophet (S.A.W), so he walks up to Aisha
(R.A), And she says: that he Squeezed My thigh, and He said: do you see what
you have done.
moreover, he says [You know]; Do you see the pain that you have put Us through,
Aisha (R.A), And she says: that he Squeezed My thigh until it started to Hurt
me, and the only thing that prevented Me from Jumping: was the prophet (S.A.W)
was Sleeping My Lap, so ‘Subhanallah’; Just Like Abubakary (R.A) did not wanna
wake up the prophet (S.A.W); IN HIS lap when the Scorpion was Eating Away At
his foot, Aisha (R.A); Although her father was Squeezing her thigh, She did not
wanna wake up the prophet (S,A,W), So then she says: then next morning Allah
(S.W.T) revealed so go ahead and make ‘Tayammum’, Aisha (R.A) says: used came
to them (R.A), and He said to them: this is not the first ‘Barakah’; that has from you O family of Abubakary, we
have got so many blessing from you, and then of course that good news and good
ending to the story; is that; when they made the camel on which I was riding
get up, I found the Necklace under it,
so we have A good ending from both sides of the story.
The incident of the ‘Ifk’; ‘Ifk’; which is like
a slander, or more accurately it’s like A swear Lie, we will let Aisha (R.A
release to us the story of what happened, Aisha (R.A) said: when the Messenger
of Allah was about to go A journey; he would draw knots among his wives to
decide who would Accompany him, he did so as usual for the Expedition against
Banu Al-Mustalaq, my name draw and so he took me with him, we used to Eat very
light Meals so we were Light weight, I would sit in my Hawdaj while my camel
was being saddled, the man responsible for mounting it mounting it would then
grasp the Hawdaj; from below it and lift it and place it upon the Camel’s back,
they would then lead the camel away by the head, when Rasullullah (S.A.W) had
completed that journey he directed the party to return home, and when closed to
madinah he made a halt for part of the Night, A crier then called out to
everyone to depart again; and people prepared to do so, I went out to relieve
to relieve myself, I was wearing A necklace of onyx Beads from Dafar, when I
had finished; it slipped from my neck without my knowledge, having returned to
my mount I felt for it around my neck but didn’t find it there, but people were
beginning to leave, so I returned to where I had been to search for the
necklace; and eventually I found it, the man who has now finished saddling my
camel came back for me, and raised up the Hawdaj thinking I was inside as
usual, you see because she was very light weight; they didn’t tell the
difference that she wasn’t in there, and fastened it on to the camel, they Had
no double about me being inside, then they took the camel by the head and let
it away, when I returned to the camel site; there was absolutely no one there;
everyone had left, so I wrapped my myself in my cloak and lay down.
I was
sure that they would return for me when they missed me, I swear I was lying
there, when Safwan Ibn Al-Muattal As-Sulami came by, He had for some reason of
his own being Lagging behind; the other Warriors and had not spent the Night
with the Others, He had seen me before the veil was required for us, when he
saw me; he Exclaimed: To Allah we belong and to him we return, he then asked:
What made you stay behind..? [May Allah Have Mercy on you], I did not speak to
him, he then brought up the camel and said: you Ride; He kept away from me, so
I mounted and he led the camel away by the Head, moving Quickly to catch up
with the rest, I swear by Allah we neither caught them up; nor did they miss me
before morning, so the entire night they didn’t miss her, and they weren’t able
to catch up with the Army, by the time the force had halted and made secure;
the man appeared leading me, and so those who spread the calumny began talking,
however I swear I knew nothing of this, they see that Safwan and Aisha are
coming Alone, so they start spreading rumours and accusing Aisha (R.A), we then
went on to Madinah; there is soon fell Seriously Sick, and Heard nothing of
what was going on, All the talking soon reached Rasullullah (R.A) and my
parents, but they told me Absolutely nothing of this, all o know noticed was that Rasullullah
(S.A.W) was not as kind as usual towards
me, I pretended not to notice.
when He came in to see me; my mother being
present nursing me, He would just say
formally: ‘Kayfa Tikum’; which means: [How Is She]…? He wouldn’t even speak to
her; He would Add Nothing more, eventually this coldness of his bothered me and
so I asked him: O Rasullullah; if you will allow it, I’d like to go and Stay
with My Mother to have care for me, Rasullullah (S.A.W) said: No problem, and
so I moved in with my Mother, I still had no knowledge what was going on, until
I recovered from my illness some three weeks later, Each night the woman would
go outside to relieve themselves, I went out to do so one night Accompanies by
Umm Mustah, ahe was walking with me when she tripped over her grown and Swore:
perish that Mustah; Mustah was her sons Nickname, His real name being Awf, so
Aisha here is saying: Why are you saying about your son…? So the Mother of
Mustah Said: Has the news not reached you daughter of Abubakary? I said: what news..? She then told me what
those spreading the Calumny Were Saying, so I exclaimed: this is really so..?
She said: Yes, it is really so, Aisha says: I swear I was so upset; I could not
do my business and went home, I wept so Much I thought My Crying would burst my
liver, I told my mother: may Allah you for not telling me anything; about what
the people have been saying about me, She said: don’t take it too seriously
daughter, Rarely does a beautiful woman with a husband who loves her; not have
her co wives and others too speak badly about her, Rasullullah (S.A.W) had
stood and addressed people on this subject; He praised and thanked Allah; then
said: why is it that people are giving me concern my family; and speaking
Untruths against them, I swear by Allah; I know nothing but good of them, and
they are also saying the same against A man; of whom I have never know anything
but good.
So Rasullullah (S.A.W) here is saying: that I
only known good of Aisha, and I only know good of Safwan, the greatest blame
for this Lay with Abdullah Bin Ubay Bin Salul; some of the Khazraj and Mustah
and Hammah; daughter of Jahsh, Aisha said: then Rasullullah (S.A.W) then
Rasullullah (S.A.W) came to me, I had with me both my parents and an ‘Ansari’
Woman, I was weeping and so was she, He sat down; gave praise and thanks to
Allah and then said: Aisha you have been informed what people have been saying
about you; Fear Allah! If you have indeed done wrong as they say; then repent
to him, as soonas he said this; my tears dried up so that I could feel nothing
of them, I waited for my parents to respond on my behalf, when I saw that my
parents were not going to respond on my behalf; I asked them: will you not
reply to Rasullullah…? They replied: by Allah we don’t know what to reply…? I
swear I don’t know any household that ever suffered so much; as did that a of
Abubakary through those days, when they were unable to respond for me; I burst
out crying again.
our mother Aisha (R.A) the said: by Allah I will never repent to Allah for what you
refer to, I swear I will know that if I were to affirm what people say; while
Allah knew me to be innocent of it, I would be affirming what had not happened,
and if I were to deny what they says; you would not believe me, I then tried to remember the name of Yaqub,
but I could not remember it; so I said: but I will speak As did the Father of
Yusuf, patient is fine and Allah’s help is to be sought against what you
describe, I swear the Messenger of Allah had not Left his seat; before Allah
sent Down him what he used to send, he was wrapped up in his cloak, and A
pillow of leader was place beneath his head, so Rasullullah (S.A.W) was now
receiving ‘Wahi’; [Revelation], as for myself; when I witnessed this I swear I
felt No or Concern, I knew that I was innocent and that Allah would not Harm
Me, However; I swear by Him who bear Aisha’s Soul in his Hands, that as soon as
the Messenger of Allah recovered.
I
thought my parent would Expire for fear, the confirmation of what people had
been saying would come from Allah; the
Messenger of Allah sat Up, his face streamed with droplets like A winter day,
he began wiping the sweat from his face and saying: Rejoice Aisha, Allah
Almighty and glorious is he, has sent down confirmation of your innocence,
Aisha said: ‘Alhamdullilah’;[All praise is to Allah], he then went out to the
people; Addressed them, and recited to them what Allah the almighty and
glorious; had revealed from Quran on the Subject, he then gave orders about
Mustah Bin Usasa; Hasan Bin Sabit and Hamnah, these having been the most
outspoken in their Calumny, and they received the flogging prescribed by Law,
this is the story of ‘Al-Ifk’ as Narrated by Aisha (R.A).
furthermore, here we get it from different Narration that ; it Says when
these ‘Ayah’ were revealed; and Rasullullah (S.A.W) told her the News, the
mother of Aisha told her: go and walk up to Rasullullah (S.A.W) and thank him;
she No; ii won’t, I am gonna only thank Allah (S.A.W); so she was still A bit
Upset(R.A). The prophet (S.A.W) toward the end of his life
around the thirteen days, every time he would go to one of the House of wives;
he would say: where I’m I Gonna be tomorrow; where I’m I going to tomorrow?
With this Enthusiasm that he would go to the House of Aisha (R.A), look at the
connection of the prophet (S.A.W) with our mother Aisha, that even in his
Sickness; Who does he wanna be with want to be with our mother Aisha Bint
Abubakary, finally his day came to with Aisha; and when they told him; he
became happy, and rest of the wives of the prophet (S.A.W); they said: from
this day forward he can stay with Aisha, Allah (S.W.T) told the prophet: you
are gonna Die and they are gonna Die, the prophet (S.A.W) toward the end of his
sickness; he began to experience the pain of death.
It was in this time that
Aisha our mother she began to serve the
prophet (S.A.W) with great Enthusiasm, and she says: one of Allah’s bounties
Upon me; is that messenger of Allah of (S.A.W) Died in my House while I’m still
Alive, and she says: He Died between my chest and Neck; while He was leaning
against me, and she says Allah (S.A.W) mixed My Saliva; with the Saliva of the
prophet (S.A.W) at his Death, and he looked up towards the Ceiling and he began
to move his Lips, O Allah forgive Me and have Mercy Upon Me, and Join to the
companionship on High, then on Monday the 12th of Rabiul Awwal; in
the 11th year of the Migration of the prophet (S.A.W); At the Age of
63 Years Old and Four Days; He passed Away, and he passed Away where….? In the
Lap of our mother Aisha[R.A.]; SAW.
And 18 year old woman; never to get married
after her beloved Rasullullah (S.A.W) away, Aisha (R.A) would say: I used make
Dua’ to Allah; O allah; let me see my beloved husband in my dreams, so Allah
answered My ‘Dua’ [Supplication], and He let me see him every second day in my
dream, and then she Used to say: I couldn’t tolerate it sometimes, so I’d make
more ‘Dua’ to Allah Answered My ‘Dua’; and he let me see him every single day. Her life
under Abubakary was very Short, because we know that Abubakary [R.A]; He only
lived for two years, that’s 15 years
after the migration of the prophet (S.A.W); she lost her father, her mother umm
Rumman; she died 6 years after the migration of the prophet [S.AW], so now
Aisha [R.A] was left without any parents.
POLITICAL CAREER
Her life under Umar; really we can say that her
life blossomed, and it was in this period that Aisha [R.A] became
distinguished; as a scholar amongst the companions of the prophet [S.A.W].
Her life under Uthman was similar to the Umar,
and with his terrible Assassination, and under the Rein of ‘Amirul Mu’muneen’
Ali Ibn Abi Tallib [R.A]; This is where we find the life of Aisha took A very
Difficult turn, perhaps no part of the life of our mother has been more
scrutinized; than her experience under the rein of Ali Ibn Abi Tallib; and
Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufian [R.A.] when Uthman Ibn Affan was Assassinated in
Madinah; our mother Aisha, she was on
Hajj; and she was Immediately of this By Az-Zubair and Talha [R.A], and ‘subhanallah’
she left from the Hajj; headed directly toward Busra, to meet Ali Ibn Abi Talib
and to try make peace; between the companions of the prophet [S.A.W].
Unfortunately some event took place and our mother Aisha [R.A]; Found herself
in the middle of this conflict; between the companions of the prophet [R.A.],
and we know that in this battle between the followers of [R.A]; and the
followers of Muawiya; Aisha [R.A] came out on a camel, thus this battle is
known as the battle of the Camel, she out to the battle and there we know
that the party of Ali defeated the other
party, I believe that the best statement with regards to this problem; which
took place between the companion of the prophet [S.A.W]; is the statement of
Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz [R.A] and He said: this Trial is A which [S.W.T] has
protected our hands from, should we not protect our Tongue from it…? And after
that Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz; He didn’t say anything Else.
DEATH
What did
Aisha keep going back to..? The Qur’an, the Qur’an, the Qur’an, and we’re gonna
fine that the End of her llife; as she’s Dying she goes to the Qur’an, Abdullah
Ibn Abbas [R.A]; He wanted to visit Aisha before Her Death, and that time she
was in A state of Pain, and she said: I’m afraid that if this guy; He visits
me, He’s gonna praise me too much, she doesn’t wanna Die being Arrogant, she
doesn’t wanna Die with somebody praising Her, and then it was said to her: He
is the cousin of the prophet [S.A.W], and one the prominent Muslims; then she
said: let him in, He came to her and He said: how are you…? And ‘Subhanallah’;
listen to the response of our mother, she said: I am Ok if I fear Allah [S.A.T],
and he said: Allah willing you are ok, As you are the wife of the prophet
[S.A.W], and he did not marry any virgin Except you, and prove of your
innocence was revealed from the heavens, and he kept praising her and finally
she said: ‘O my Lord: I wish I Died before this, and I was something which was
forgotten; never mentioned, and then our mother Aisha [S.A.W] a short time
later; she passed away, Her funeral prayer was led by Abu Hurairah, and she
buried in AL-Baqi At Nigt time as that was her request.
