Bring on the learning revolution by Sir Ken Robinson
(TED Talks)
The
climate crisis, from the talk according Sir Ken Robinson he believed that
there is second climate crisis which is as severe, the same origins, and that
we have to deal with in urgency. He said what he means by this; this is climate
of, not natural resource and believes that’s true but the crisis of human
resources. According Sir Ken Robinson he says that he believe fundamentally as
many speakers said fast few days that, we make very poor used of our talents.
Many people have gone through all their lives having no real sense of, what
their talents may be or they have any to speak out. Don’t think you are good at
anything, actually I’m going to divide
the world into two groups now jimmy Benson a great utilitarian philosopher once
smite this argument, he said there are two type of people in this world.
Those who divide this
into two and those who do not, Sir Ken Robinson said he do. He says he meets
all kind of people who don’t enjoy what they do, they simply go through their
lives getting embedded and they get no pleasure of what they do. They
endure rather enjoy it and wait for the
weekend and also meet with people who love what they do and could imagine doing
anything else, if you tell them don’t do this anymore they will wander what are
you talking about this is only true for a minority of people, he think there is
an explanation for it. High among them (cause) is education, According to Sir
Ken Robinson; education is one of the major reasons why most people don’t do
what they love because, and Education “dislocates many people from their
natural talents.
As a result, he goes on saying the human
resource is like natural resources they are often very deep “you have to
looking for them; they are not just lying around on the surface.” You to create a circumstance weather they are
sure of themselves, you might imagine education be the way may happen but too
often is not, every education system in the world is been reformed at the
moment and this is not enough. Reformed is no used anymore because that simply
improving a broken model, what we need and what we used many a times of few days “ is Not evolution, but a
revolution! In education” this has to be transform into something else.
According Sir Robinson he said, one of the
real challenges is to innovate fundamentally in education. Modernization is difficult
as it means of doing something that persons don’t fine very easy for the most
party means. Challenging is what we take for granted, things that we think are noticeable
and the great problematic for reformed or transformation things that persons
thought but then it cant’s be done like that its done. Sir Robinson quotes from
(Abraham Lincoln) he says one policy that we don’t teach American history in
Britain, rather we suppress it. He then said that, “the dogmas of the quiet
past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with
difficulty and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must
think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save
our country.”
In regarding to him what this mean is that the ideas that we
take for granted is a natural order thing ,the way things are and many verities
had been formed not to meet the conditions of this era but to cope with the conditions
of the preceding centuries but our mind is still ….. by them and we have to
disenthrall ourselves or some of them and doing this the deal said have been cupola,
is very difficult to know by manner what
you take for granted, and the reason is you take it for granted…. From what I have learn I
consider that’s an excellent quote, and highly suitable to the occasion. Now
this new era need get a new established of standards, and we need to move with
the times, not simply after the truth. Is matter of Must to adapt and reason of
new accepted wisdom; let go of the ideas that we take for granted and hence
save our country from the education crisis that come about it.
Teenagers do not wear wrist watches,
It don’t means or never allow to they just often choose not to, and the reason
is that we were been brought up in pre digital culture i.e. those who are 25
and as for us if want to know the time you have to wear something to tell it.
Kids now living the world which digitalize and the time incident are
everywhere; they see no reason to this and they you don’t need to it either.
Therefore according Sir
Ken Robinson, Here are things shows in education for instance is the idea of linearity,
and that its commence here, and go to a track, if you do everything correctly,
and you will end up set rest of your life. Each person he spoke of third, he
told them implicitly or sometime explicitly at diverse story that life is not
linear but organic we create our lives symbiotically as we explore our talents
in linked to the circumstances they aid to create for us. Obsesses with this linear narrative and
public pinnacle of education is getting you to college. According Sir Ken Robinson, says he think we
are obsess in getting people to college, not everybody need to go college now,
may be they need to go now later, not
right away…"
Moreover ,Sir Ken
Robinson goes on saying “Human
communities depend upon our diversity of talent not our singular conception of
ability.” And the heart of our challenge
is to reconstitute our sense of ability and intelligent, this linearity thing
is a problem said Sir Ken Robinson. He says he came across a policy statement,
very well intention said college begin in kindergarten, no it don’t, according
him kindergarten begins in kindergarten, he then quote from a French man saying
“A 3 year old is NOT half a 6 year old…” their three but have we just said last
session there are competition at to the kindergarten; get to the right
kindergarten people are been interviewing for it at three.
Another
bigger one is conformity, “we have built our education system on the model of fast
food, and there are two models. Firstly , one is fast food where everything is
standardized, and second is the where everything is not standardized they are
customize to local circumstances and we have sold ourselves to fast model
education and is publishing our spirits and energies as much as fast food
depleting on our physical bodies.” And
goes on saying I think we have to recognize everything, firstly “Human talent
is tremendously diverse; People have very different aptitudes …. But it’s not
only about that, it’s about passion, often people are good at things they don’t
really care for and what excite are spirit and our energy.” If you are doing thing, you love to do, you
are good at, time take it different cause entirely… if you are doing something
that you love an hour feels like five minutes, if you are doing something that
don’t acquainted with your spirit five minutes seems like an hour. The reason
why many people are out of education because it doesn’t feed their spirit,
energy, and passion.
Besides,
according to Sir Robinson he
said, he thinks we have to change
metaphors. We have to go from what is essentially an industrial metaphor
of education, a manufacturing model, which is based on linearity
and conformity, and batching people. We have to move to a model that is
based more on agriculture. We have to recognize that human flourishing is
not a mechanical process, it’s an organic process, and you cannot predict the
outcome of human development.
Likewise, according him, all us can do this,
like a farmer is to create the conditions under which they will begin to
flourish. He then continue saying, when we look at reforming, and transforming
it education. It don’t like clothing a system. Is but customizing them to your
circumstances, and personalizing education to the people you are actually
teaching, doing that I think is the answer to the future. Because is not about scaling any solution; is
about creating a movement in education in which people develop their own
solution but with support base on the personalize curriculum.
Finally, Sir Robinson strongly urges us
in contributing to the technology combined with extraordinary teachers and providing opportunities to
revolutionize education system, and it
might not be in significant to ourselves
but our children . But we have to change the industrial model to an
agricultural model where each school can be flourishing tomorrow I belie that just as
technology has transformed the way
we interact in the real world. The then quote from (W.B. Yeats) ) it reads ”Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark
cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under
your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams
under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.” And very day,
everywhere, our children spread that dreams beneath our feet, and should tread
softly thank you.
