The praise is
due May peace and blessing is upon the last messenger of Allah, his families as
well as the Sahabas Ameen. The ideology
of feminism had great impacts on the Muslim civilizations, societies and the morality of an individual in a particular locality. The west had influence most
of our Muslim women through their ideology of been equal with the men called
gender equality both in the political, social responsivities, furthermore Islam
in its totality does not refuse the idea of equity in the light of Islam, this
is because Allah (S.W.T) has created from the single pair of a blood clot (Adam
&Awa) however Islam views it in the different perspective looks it
differently from the western perspective of feminism. From the point of views of Ecofeminists
disagree that in circumstances, when women are abused by men in authority for
their own self-interest, pleasure, and success.
Honour in
the site of Allah is based upon taqwa not what man has done or women have to do.
And this goes back to another concept of quality between man & woman. For the
western world quality means the mind you share in daily life in terms of work,
job etc. and our quality means religious and spiritual there can be no quality
in the fig holes of men and women because men & women are not the same
Allah says in the Quran man and woman are not the same and so we cannot
compared two genders who have different roles, biologically, intellectually,
physiologically, emotionally is a mistake in the first place don’t compare,
Allah has given the men a role that they are capable of doing and women role that
are capable of doing.
First of
all let me talk about the origins of the feminist movement in the west, as
stated in their history and most of the known feminist movement, their leaders
are most often middle- class white women originated in North America and Western Europe. Conversely, the American
feminist who has given a speech in 1851, called Sojourner Truths. Other women had endorsed another way of
feminisms and this movement enhanced since the 1960s by means of the Civil Rights
movement in U.S and breakdown European colonization in Africa, some areas of
Latin America, Caribbean and Southeast Asia. This is because women in those the colonial period in Europe and other 3rd the world had suggested “Post-colonial” and 3rd world “ feminist,
example Alice Walker, Angela Davis is
black feminists and Talpade Mohanty those are very critical Western feminisms
of believing that the people, customs and
traditions of your own race or nationality are better than those of other
races.
The feminisms had drastically
effect the western societies, leading them the west to fall on a lot of
difficulties about oneself, environment, families and misconceptions, broken
the bone of marriages, immorality in the society which is not in conformity
with shariah and Islamic behaviours of an individual in the societies to
maintain a peaceful environment. As been instructed by Allah and the prophet
Muhammad (S.A.W). These are some of the effects it has on society. Individualism
Competition
The Reproductive
right
The Problem
of sex roles
The incapability of the society to attain to its Aims and ambitions
Legal
status of women in the society etc.
Firstly
competition, as men to control the society, responsibility and affairs the
community. Providing for the family their wellbeing and shelter, the feminist
compete with the men in any responsibilities either from the society, family
and political affairs leading them to disunity with men because of
self-interest and materialistic.
Secondly
reproductive right, the feminisms has gone so far to demand the right their
family. Women decide the pregnancy to maintain and to aborts which is
detrimental to society and encourage illegal sex leading them to fall on
pornography. The child that Allah (S.W.T) ordain to live, you go so far to
aborts it out for the reason of productive right some will die because of that
, Allah (S.W.T) those not give the right anybody to kill any human
beings.
Thirdly of
sex roles, Allah has given the roles of both men and women in the society, and
responsibilities of each. That is why in Islam the men are ordered to pay the
bride price to the women, her shelter, her clothing and children care of
feeding but not the women why..? Because is his responsibility. The feminism
views the men and women has all of them has equal right and responsibility
because of the ideology 50; 50 whatever men can do we can do it better. western civilization looking down upon many things that are
inherently women such as childbearing, taking caring of children, they called
it housewife, most of the women feel they have been insulted saying I’m not
housewife, where is the feeling came from the west. Can there be any job more
noble in the sight of Allah then taking care of living beings, can you compare engineering with a mother, can you compare this with taking care of a beautiful innocent child has Allah had blessed you with, being in charge of it,
why do we look down these roles.
Fourthly the incapability of the society to
attained to its Aims and ambitions, the physical the strength that Allah (S.W.T) gives to men, is totally unlike the women example
in the labour force, engineering, lifting of heavy metals, which will be really
detrimental to women health because they are not physically strong like me. The
Muslim women had been influenced by the west because of their ideologies of
feminism which causes great harm to society and a healthy environment.
Fifthly the legal status of women in the society, concerning the ideology of western
feminism, if any Muslim women have this ideology in her from Islam the injunction will be seriously damaging
herself both in spiritually or physically has indicated by shariah
legality status of the society.
Furthermore the effect of the feminism on marriage, feminism has
seriously affect the institution of Muslim, that their ideologies concerning marriage
are direct in conflicting with the Islam injunction, according to the scholars of
the era…
Firstly
polygamy, the ideology of equality between men and women is in direct conflict
with the institution of marriages in our communities through the equality of the western ideology, they refuse to accept polygamy. They only accept monopoly
single wife relation which affects us the Muslim to practice the Sunnah the
prophet (S.A.W) encourage all the able men to marry up to four wives. They do not
only affect us all humanity, this is why women do not want to hear second
wife.
Secondly respect, through this ideology of
western feminism, women no longer respect their husband or take their advice of
them which is not conformity with shariah. This is advice from the scholars that woman should not be left the house without her husband consent if she does it
must be with genuine reason and which the west feminism does, which causes a lot
of divorces and difficulties facing by
the husband in their marriages which
seriously affected them. The husband will feel so low because the wife those
not give the utmost respect he deserved as the head of the family.
Thirdly problems of
developing the personality of the children, the theory of family permitted both husband and the wife to go there and work out in any means to get the
sustenance which has a greater impact on bringing up the children if the mother is at
work who will be looking after her children for her. If it is an individual who
lacks morality and Islamic teaching surely she conspires or turns your children
into something you cannot believe and also the children can be influenced by a friend either good or bad. When the be with his/her children she will able to
their companion that she is moving with. A good companion and motherly time
advice, love and caring the will in save hand by the will of Allah. Allah
(S.W.T) has that of the responsibility of a mentor, find the means and feed his family.
Fourthly family system, the feminism has gone
so far in the affecting lineage of the system of the family with their of single the family system is known as the nuclear family system, and they encourage and promote it and go against the extended system family
which is encouraged by shariah. As our noble prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) encourage
us to do it.
In
conclusion there are a few steps the Ummah needs to take to stay away from the
harmful effect feminism. Firstly we must go back to the Quran and Sunnah what
did the Allah and his messenger says concerning men and women in the society,
their roles and responsibilities. Secondly, the scholars of the Ummah had make
people aware of the harmful effects of the feminism and educated them through
using workshops, conferences, media,
and our schools both low levels
and senior level with that I jest the problem will be solved In sha Allah.
